Lawrence Griego is a native New Mexican with roots in Sandoval County dating back several hundred years. He is happily married, has two sons, a step-son, two dogs and a cat.
Lawrence graduated from Menaul School in 1993 and, as a working parent, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership, Summa Cum Laude, from National American University in 2013. He has earned professional designations in the public sector including: National Certified Public Manager from the NMSU EDGE Program and Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES) from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) .
Lawrence has 15 years of public service with the Sandoval County Assessor's Office as an appraiser and appraiser supervisor. He is honored to be designated as an Instructor for the NMSU EDGE Program and passed the IAAO Instructor Training Workshop. Lawrence holds state and national designations in MASS Appraisal. This combination of education and experience are what taxpayers count on in a qualified and competent assessor. Lawrence was the Chairman of the Republican Party of Sandoval County from January 2021 to March of 2022 prior shifting his focus to his campaign for Sandoval County Assessor.
